For businesses, groups of businesses, collectives, not-for-profit
associations, or organizations that are currently engaged in the work of
the tourism sector or wish to supply training or education applicable
to the tourism sector.

Applications are accepted year-round, but must be received before your course starts. With that in mind, please refer to the following list of application deadlines:

ABOUT THE FUND
Funded by the Yukon Government's Department of Education, Advanced Education branch, the Yukon Tourism Training Fund (YTTF) is administered by TIA Yukon.
PURPOSE OF THE YTTF
The main purpose of the YTTF is to provide tourism training that is responsive to industry and employee training needs. This fund will contribute to achieving a more qualified Yukon tourism labour market that can support an increasingly competitive industry. The fund is divided into three streams:
- Entry-level skill development – such as food safe, welcome Yukon, first aid, basic web and marketing skills, beginner accounting, etc.
- Seasonal employment training and (re)certification – wilderness first aid, white water rescue, etc.
- Professional skills enhancement and course work - (for current tourism employees) to
upgrade skills to existing knowledge base, such as the next courses in
accounting, website skills, sales and marketing, etc.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Applicants may be any of the following:
- Individuals, including those aspiring to work in the tourism sector, full time employees, and students, as well as seasonal workers and Yukon tourism industry professionals already engaged in the tourism industry.
Applicants must be:
- Yukon residents, including new and returning residents, who are Canadian citizens or Landed Immigrant/Permanent Residents.
- Those prepared and able to invest up to 25% of the total eligible costs of training.
WHO CANNOT APPLY?
- Non-Yukon residents
- Permanent employees of the Yukon, Federal or First Nations Governments.
HOW MUCH CAN I APPLY FOR?
- Per year, (April 1 to March 31), a maximum of $3,000 (Canadian funds) for individuals.
- For group applications, a maximum of $5,000 CAD per year.
- The fund can only cover eligible costs up to a maximum of 75% (see page 2 of the Individual and Group Application Forms for detailed information on eligible costs and what training can be funded).
