From last year's mandate, TIA Yukon continues to champion a few programs:
Yukon Occupancy Data Collection - in it's first 12 months still, the purpose of this program is to collect accommodation information re: room nights voluntarily from operators throughout the Yukon. TIA Yukon's consultant, Rob Dunbar-Edge is leading the program, visiting all Yukon operators and communicating the program elements and processes.
Canada Select - for the Yukon, this program is now being administered and managed by TIA Yukon. 2006 was a renewal year for operators already in the program. 2007 will be an inspection year where our Canada Select Advisor will be visiting properties early in the season to inspect participating and new properties. Canada Select is a nation-wide, consumer-driven, accommodations standards program enabling operators to promote themselves as a CS star rated program - from 1-5 stars, where the number of stars represents both amenities and cleanliness.
